If you have multiple microphone, speaker, or camera options installed on your device, your browser may select the incorrect option by default, leading to issues with sound or video. Follow these steps to review and adjust your selections:
1. Enter the Waiting Room
- For Providers:
- Log into your Psychology Today account.
- Navigate to Sessions and select Start a Session.
- For Clients:
- Load the Waiting Room URL and click Continue.
2. Access Camera and Audio Settings
- Providers: Click the icon with three vertical dots.
- Clients: Click the gear icon.
3. Review and Update Settings
- A list with Microphone, Speakers, and Video options will appear, each with a dropdown menu.
- Use the dropdowns to select the correct device for each option.
- Browser Compatibility - Please note: Firefox does not support toggling these settings within the waiting room. For this functionality, we recommend using Chrome or Safari.
4. Test Your Settings
- Once you've made your selections, use the test functionality to ensure your microphone and speakers are working as expected.
